The Levels of Reiki: From Level 1 to Master and Karuna — Which Is Right for You?

By Dr. Maryam Haji Rasouli · ReikiFly Academy

Reiki, a complementary practice, is taught in several levels, and each level opens a new door to energy and self-knowledge. Knowing the difference between them helps you choose with awareness.

Reiki Level 1: the beginning

Level 1 is for everyone and has no prerequisite. You receive the attunement, learn the history and five principles of Reiki and the chakras, and learn to give Reiki to yourself. The 21-day plan after the attunement lets the energy settle into daily life. Reiki Level 1 details

Reiki Level 2: depth and reach

Level 2 teaches the Reiki symbols, tools that make the energy more focused and stronger. Distance Reiki, cleansing of situations and relationships, and giving Reiki to others become possible at this level. Reiki Level 2 details

Reiki Master: the stage of mastery

Master is for those who want to live Reiki more deeply and, if they wish, teach it to others. The cleansings at this level are deep, and many seekers call it a turning point in their lives. Reiki Master details

Karuna Reiki®: the energy of compassion

Karuna means “compassion” in Sanskrit. Karuna Reiki® is taught in three levels and is for those who have completed the Usui Reiki path and are ready to work with deeper layers, including family patterns and old wounds. Karuna Reiki® details

In person or online?

Attunements are given both in person in our Tehran, Karaj and Isfahan branches and online. Reiki energy is not limited by place, and the experiences of online seekers are just as deep and real.
