Reiki and Healing: The Role of Reiki Alongside Medicine

By Dr. Maryam Haji Rasouli · ReikiFly Academy

Many seekers ask: “Does Reiki heal?” The honest answer is that Reiki is a complementary practice; ReikiFly always states that Reiki is helpful alongside medicine, is not a substitute for medical treatment, and can complement it. In this view, healing does not only mean that a symptom disappears; it means returning to harmony, calm and wholeness of body, mind and spirit.

Healing in the Reiki view

Reiki holds that the body has an innate intelligence for repair. Long-term stress, suppressed grief and mental fatigue weaken this ability. By creating deep calm, Reiki provides a space in which this natural intelligence can work better.

Reiki alongside medicine

Today, in some hospitals and medical centres around the world, Reiki is offered alongside the main treatments to help patients relax. One of our seekers wrote after a chemotherapy session how much calm the group, the music and the meditations had given her. This is Reiki’s rightful place: a companion and support, not a replacement.

Experiences people report

  • Deep calm and better sleep
  • Less muscle tension and a feeling of lightness
  • Release of old emotions, sometimes with tears or laughter
  • More hope and motivation on the path of treatment
  • More kindness toward one’s own body

Cleansing reactions

After an attunement or deep sessions, there may be a few days of tiredness, rising emotions or vivid dreams. These are usually signs of cleansing and settle with enough water, rest and continued practice. If a physical symptom persists, be sure to see a doctor.

Self-Healing

The Self-Healing course is designed for those who want to take responsibility for their calm and emotional wellbeing with kindness.
